Classes are available at the Academy this winter through March 20. In addition to the published winter schedule, Alexandra Sharma is offering three separate classes on COLOR THEORY entitled “How Shadows Work,” “Colors of the Changing Seasons,” and “Fine Tuning Greens, Blues and Violets.” The classes will run Feb. 12, Feb. 19, and Feb. 26 (Thursday mornings) from 9 to 12 noon. You may sign up for one, two, or all three. In addition, long time Island landscape and wildlife artist Addison Palmer will be offering a one-day class on the FUNDAMENTALS OF ACRYLIC on Saturday, Mar. 7, from 9 to 4 pm.

The free “Lunch with the Masters” series is scheduled on Thursdays during the winter session from 12:10 to 1 pm. The first four Thursdays included an in-depth presentation on the Impressionists—the Other French Revolution. The last in the series-- Feb. 6 will discuss the end of exhibitions—the final years. On Feb. 13, J. M. W. Turner will be discussed; on Feb. 20, the American Impressionists will be highlighted. There will be no lunch session on Feb. 27. Life drawing class with nude models will be offered again each Monday evening through March 9 if we have our minimum number of students necessary to run each class. The fee is $10 per session for Art League members and current students. Contact the Academy administrator at 842-5738 if you wish to be put on the e-mail reminder list.
