KAYE BLACK and her husband, Joe, moved to Hilton Head Island in 1978. Kaye owns Curry Printing and has served on boards of many local organizations, including the Chamber of Commerce, United Way, the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry, and First Presbyterian Church. Kaye says, “The Art League of Hilton Head is an important part of the culture of this area, giving art lovers like me the opportunity to meet and mingle with local artists. As a member of the board [Secretary] I feel a responsibility to ensure that the Art League continues to serve and enrich the community by providing art education, exhibits&scholarships.”

CINDY CHIAPPETTA - This is my fourth year on the board and I have loved it. I was scared out of my mind after taking on Special Events three years ago, a brand new position that year. I hardly knew where to begin, but I should not have worried. There has always been great support and most of the time I didn't even have to go looking for help - it was often offered before I ever asked for it.
I've learned a lot, met a zillion artists, know the events now inside out. I just loved being involved with all of the great people, who work so hard to keep us nutty artists happy and out there in the public eye. I'm glad to be the Membership Chair now.

N. JACK HUDDLE served as a member of the Art Advisory Council last year and now “graduated” to heading up the AAC. Jack offers his constructive advice to the Board from his artistic viewpoint and his expertise as a former architect. He welcomes any feedback our artist members wish to share with him about the Gallery or the Art League as a whole.

SUSAN KNIGHT - I always look forward to the Special Events of the Art League each year. As the best source for the visual arts on Hilton Head Island I am proud of the work everyone has done and I am honored to serve on the Board and be responsible for these events.

DONNA VARNER - I was invited to join the Artist Advisory Council to represent the photographers of the Art League. I bring to the Board not only my artistic perspective, but also my business brain (years of retail merchandising experience, and graduate studies in group and organizational behavior). As a new member, I expect my involvement will bring new ideas about how the Art League can strengthen and create
links between artists and community members.
