If you'll remember back in Dec. 2006, when I took over as President, we were in a financial mess. One of the income-raising tactics we quickly implemented was to increase the artists' sales commission to the Gallery from 35% to 40%. At that time I told the 80+ artists in attendance that if we ever recovered financially we'd re-evaluate that increase.
I am very pleased to inform the artists that your Board of Directors has approved returning to the 35% commission level effective January 1, 2009.
Implementing cost effective programs plus the ATAC grant have returned us to a fairly respectable financial position. We hope you'll keep this positive Board action in mind when you receive your 2009 Membership form later this month.
